The Hollows

Where the Land Decides the Way

Oak Hollow isn’t one place — it’s three. Each Hollow has its own rhythm, its own purpose, and its own way of slowing the world down. Together, they form the living heart of our seventy acres.

The land itself shaped them — not a blueprint. Two ancient gorges cut across the property, one running east to west, another north to south, converging in the southwest corner. Those natural lines became our guide.

🍂 East Hollow — Long-Term Living

A quiet stretch along the old gravel road, East Hollow is for those ready to stay awhile. Here, cabins and long-term leases offer space for reflection, creativity, and self-sufficiency. Some residents build their own cabins; others move into one we’ve built by hand. Either way, life here moves at the pace of the seasons.

🌕 West Hollow — Short-Term Stays

Along the old grass runway, West Hollow welcomes guests who need only a few days to remember what matters. It’s where travelers, writers, and wanderers come to pause — to trade Wi-Fi for woodsmoke, noise for night sky. Every stay is simple, warm, and temporary by design.

🌲 South Hollow — Primitive Solitude Camping

Beyond the pond and through the woods lies South Hollow — where the trail ends and quiet begins. No power. No water. No noise. Just a fire ring and a stack of wood waiting for you. Bring your own tent. Or not. This is the truest form of stillness: primitive, peaceful, and real.

🌾 Why No North Hollow?

Because the land decided where Oak Hollow ends. To the north, the ridge rises gently toward the property line, where the forest continues beyond our care. Our Hollows follow the folds of the land, not the compass — shaped by gorges, trees, and the spaces where quiet gathers deepest.

🪶 The Meaning of “Hollow”

In these hills, a Hollow isn’t just a low place between ridges. It’s a refuge — where the wind slows, the trees grow older, and time softens around the edges.
Our property lies half a mile down a winding gravel road off Cox Gap, ending in complete seclusion. When you reach the end of that road, you’ve reached the beginning of quiet.
