East Hollow

A Quiet, Long-Term Haven in the Woods of North Alabama

East Hollow is one of the quietest corners of Oak Hollow Cabins — a long-term, off-grid community designed for people who want a slower, simpler life. Tucked among hardwoods and winding paths near Boaz, Alabama, it’s a place where you can build or lease a small cabin, settle into a peaceful routine, and live close to nature without giving up basic comforts.

East Hollow is not a campground.
It’s not a weekend retreat.
It’s a place to live — gently, intentionally, and long-term.

Whether you dream of building your own cabin or stepping into one that’s already crafted, East Hollow offers a rare chance to create a home beneath the trees.

🌲 What Life in East Hollow Feels Like

Life here is quiet. Slow. Grounding.

Your cabin sits on a private wooded lot — 5,000 or 10,000 square feet, depending on what you choose. You wake to the sound of wind in the trees, walk to the Hub for morning water or laundry, and return to a home that feels tucked away from the world.

Tenants at East Hollow value:

  • peace and privacy
  • nature over noise
  • simplicity over clutter
  • community without crowding
  • a life lived with intention

You’re independent here — but never isolated.

🏡 Three Long-Term Living Paths

East Hollow offers three ways to make this quiet place your home.
Each is simple, clear, and designed for a different kind of resident.

All East Hollow residents choose from one of three standard cabin models.

Option 1 — Lease a Lot (DIY Cabin Build)

For the independent builder who wants to craft their own space.

You lease a private wooded lot and build your own 12×16, 12×20, or 12×24 cabin using one of our approved East Hollow cabin models and basic off-grid guidelines.

You own the cabin itself — Oak Hollow leases the land beneath it.

All East Hollow lot leases include full access to The Hub — including potable water, shower, laundry, kitchen space, library, and shared indoor facilities.

Lot lease options:

  • 5,000 sq ft lot — $200/month
  • 10,000 sq ft lot — $350/month

You manage your own generator, fuel, firewood, and supplies.
This option is ideal for residents who want autonomy and hands-on creation.

👉 Full building standards and material guidelines are available after your application is approved.

Option 2 — Lease-to-Own (We Build Your Cabin)

For those who want long-term stability without building it themselves.

Oak Hollow Cabins will build your cabin using one of the approved East Hollow cabin models, following the same standards used throughout the community.

You make a meaningful down payment, followed by monthly payments toward the cabin, along with a separate East Hollow lot lease.

Key points:

  • Cabin pricing depends on the selected model and build timing
  • Down payment and monthly structure are discussed individually
  • Builds are scheduled intentionally and completed one at a time
  • All cabins include the standard generator house and Hearth

This path is ideal for residents who want:

  • Long-term stability
  • A cabin built with care
  • Ownership without managing construction

Specific pricing and terms are discussed after an initial conversation to ensure the right fit.

Option 3 — Rent a Completed Cabin (Standard Long-Term Rental)

For the person who wants simplicity, comfort, and no build process.

You rent one of our completed Oak Hollow cabins for a one-year renewable lease. It includes access to The Hub, and optional generator setup, fuel allowance, and firewood.

🌟 Featured Cabin: The Threshold

East Hollow’s first finished home — warm pine interior, wood-burning stove, and a thoughtfully designed outdoor Hearth area.

Base rent: $795
All-inclusive conveniences (generator + fuel + firewood + handling): +$350
Total all-inclusive: $1,145/month

The Threshold Cabin will be available February 2026.

🏡 The Hub — East Hollow’s Community Center

Every East Hollow resident has access to The Hub — a warm, quiet indoor space designed to make long-term off-grid living simple, sustainable, and humane.

Inside the 24×24 building you’ll find:

  • potable water
  • hot shower
  • clean restroom
  • washer + dryer
  • shared kitchen space
  • reading & writing room
  • comfortable gathering area

The Hub supports daily life at your cabin without replacing it.
You live independently — but you’re not left to figure everything out alone.

The Hub, Taking Shape

The Hub is no longer just a plan on paper.

Furniture has moved in. The rooms are settling into themselves. What was once framing and flooring is now a shared, lived space — a place to shower, wash clothes, cook a simple meal, sit with a book, or talk quietly at the table.

Every East Hollow resident has access to the Hub as part of their lease. It’s here to support your first months — and every season after — as you find your rhythm living simply and intentionally.

As East Hollow grows, the Hub will grow with it — slowly, thoughtfully, and always in service of quiet living.

🔌 Utilities, Power & Living Systems

East Hollow is fully off-grid, but carefully designed for comfort.

  • Each lot has a Predator 5000 generator hookup (bring your own or rent ours).
  • Solar systems are welcome and encouraged.
  • Composting toilets and greywater setups are standard.
  • Firewood, generator fuel, and garbage service can be added to your lease.

You live simply — but without unnecessary hardship.
